WAEL Kaawach, MD, MBA

Wael Kaawach, MD, MBA, is currently the CEO of The Healthcare Development Holding Company (HDH), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Kaawach has taken a leadership role in clinical, business and community settings. With strong planning and result oriented strategy, he led the medical operations of a 300-bed greenfield private hospital in Jeddah and implemented a disease based clinical centers with emphasis on outcomes reporting and clinical staff integration. As Chairman, Dr. Kaawach was instrumental in the development of Sudair Pharma Co., that is focused on the local manufacturing of unmet needs including Oncology drugs. He had also been elected as a Vice-Chairman to Saned Charity Organization that supports the needs of children with cancer.
Dr. Kaawach, is a Saudi citizen, that has completed his residency and fellowship at the Harvard University Orthopedic Surgery Program. He then joined The Harvard Medical School Faculty as an Instructor and Consultant in Orthopedic Surgery, and later appointed as the Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at the Boston VA Healthcare System. He has earned many awards including a Commendation Award from the US Department of Veteran Affairs and has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Corporate Chief Financial Officer
As a group chief financial officer, Hamdan plays a key role in shaping the strategy and vision of the company to put HDH on the map as a leader in advancing the healthcare sector in KSA. He effectively played a vital role in expanding and strengthening the footprint of the company through his essential role in investments, acquisitions and mergers. He is responsible for multiple financial functions and is directly involved in decisions concerning corporate finance and investments. He is a well-seasoned professional with a stellar career spanning over 30 years in financial management, strategy, and business leadership.
Hamdan is a member of the HDH board of directors and actively contributes to setting the company's vision and strategic plans, supervising the implementation of those strategies and continuously monitoring performance. He has also been elected a member of the board of directors and a trusted advisor for multiple regional companies.
Earlier in his career, Hamdan held several senior positions in auditing, investment and healthcare firms. He completed all four sections of the CPA in 1997 from Colorado state, and he is a fellow member of the ASCA.

Dr. Al-Sabbagh graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Aleppo University, Syria, in 1986. After specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology, He practiced medicine in various hospitals in Syria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, holding different leadership positions during this period,
His passion for Medical Administration created a shift in his career. Started as a Medical Director at Erfan and Bagedo Hospital, Jeddah, for over ten years with various responsibilities covering the Inpatient and Ambulatory Care areas, and later as a Medical Director of the hospital.
This gave Dr. Al-Sabbagh a depth of understanding and a vast skill set in maximizing utilization and optimizing care in a very busy healthcare setting.
Dr. Al-Sabbagh was then picked as the Chief Executive Officer of the International Modern Hospital (IMH) in Dubai, UAE, where he helped in building hospital systems and readiness leading to its successful inauguration and later international quality accreditation. During his tenure at IMH, he overlooked all aspects of operations, administrative, financial, and medical services.
After that, Dr. Al-Sabbagh moved to the International Medical Centre (IMC) in Jeddah as the Chief Administrative Officer, where he was responsible for building corporate partnerships with Insurance companies and semi-governmental corporates. Under his leadership, IMC enjoyed a historical leap in operations and revenues, as well as positioning it as a significant player in the Saudi health market.
Currently, Dr. Al-Sabbagh is the Director of Health care Administration, responsible for liaising medical services with Health care providers, insurance companies, and brokerage as well as supervising the healthcare provision services within the company network.
EIAD Al Saba, BSc
Corporate Business Development Director
As a Corporate Business Development Director, Mr. Al Saba is responsible for creating and expanding business opportunities for the group and its subsidiaries. His work involves identifying and evaluating health care opportunities that suits HDH’s vision and expansion outlook, supervising due-diligence studies, liaising feasibility analysis and planning merger and acquisition deals. He is directly involved with the subsidiaries in identifying and expanding markets within their scope.
Mr. Al Saba also oversees HDH’s Project Management Office, where he is involved in the planning and implementation of different projects, covering all the major phases of HDH operational framework from evaluation, planning, setup and monitoring after maturity.
Mr. Al Saba is backed by 22 years of diverse experience in health care. He started with the marketing team of the pharmaceutical giant, NOVARTIS Pharma AG, then joined International Medical Center as the External Relations Director, where he managed the development of various programs and services such as the International Patients Program, Customer Loyalty Program, event management and contracting activities. He was then appointed as a Project Manager to direct and monitor expansion projects for the International Medical Center Company, such as the International Extended Care Center, a 174 bed healthcare facility and IMC Reinstatement Project in addition to many other projects within the center.
Eiad is a Certified Project Management Professional from Project Management Institute (PMI), USA with multiple senior management skills course. He obtained his Bachelor degree in Pharmacy from IPU, Jordan.
