McKinsey reported that by 2025, demand for hospital beds in the region will be more than double, requiring almost 162,000  beds to meet this demand. Saudi Arabia is registered among the lowest number of beds, nurses and doctors  per population even within the GCC.

 

Aside from the government plan for building healthcare facilities  to  respond  to the current shortage, the private sector  will  be  building  a  huge number of clinics and hospitals. This demand is placing a strain on the kingdom’s existing healthcare infrastructure. However, this need for increasing healthcare capacity is an exciting opportunity in the shifting landscape of healthcare in the country. The government is encouraging the participation of the private sector in the investment of healthcare capacity expansion, which  is  why  time  is  more than right for companies to initiate Public Private Partnerships (PPP). That being so, no  time  has  the demand for smart planning of healthcare infrastructure been more imperative than now.

 

But hospitals are more than just complex buildings. From here  comes the need for companies that provide state-of-the  art  integrated  design and planning services with a mixture of localized  expertise and international competencies to understand the underlying structure, and make  hospitals more intelligent and more productive.

 

The  construction  of  new  hospitals will definitely play a pivotal  role  toward  a  healthier  society,  in  addition to creating  thousands of jobs for citizens. Thus, medical facilities construction is born  from  global  standards, but  adopted  and developed  by  national  talents.  Building this national  strength is not an additional component.  It is an absolute need and an outright goal of HDH.
